Fenlon
65 Grandfather's Way, Eastham

The Fenlon house is in a part of southern Eastham once known for its agriculture. Large old farmhouses and open fields tell of the generations of farmers who once grew and shipped asparagus and turnips to Boston and NY by train, as does an occasional cranberry bog, now idle. Tucked away on a quiet dead end, Fenlon is an escape from the busier part of town, while still being convenent to beaches and shopping. The Cape Cod Rail Trail, a paved bicycle and hiking path that runs through all or part of 5 towns, passes quite close to this house. This year-round home is a Cape ranch with three bedrooms, two baths, living room with dining area, and kitchen. Amenities include cable TV, master bedroom AC, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and WiFi. It has a combination farmer's porch and open deck overlooking a spacious back yard. Eastham's little Herring Pond is the closest beach, but not far beyond are First Encounter Beach (bay), where the Pilgrims first saw the Cape's native Indians, and Wiley Park on Great Pond, a pleasantly shaded area with a small playground. Coast Guard Beach, a National Seashore Beach on the Back Shore (Atlantic), is about 4 miles away and can also be reached via the Rail Trail, with the last mile along a country road.
